School Leaders: Don't Hog the Spotlight

Some school leaders are narcissistic.
They take the credit...
for their district's, their school's,
their students' achievements.

When accountability measures
produce enviable outcomes,
they hog the spotlight.

While capable school leaders
contribute to the process,
the lion's share of the credit
belongs to the students,
​their teachers, their families.

So what is my role as a principal?

To support those students,
teachers and families.
They are in the trenches
doing the hard work.

I am here to provide resources:
Time.
Tech.
Texts.

They are the catalysts
for our measured competencies.

I am the conduit,
